This is where I am writing this blog. Maybe it explains why I am sometimes distracted.
The electrician came in the morning to usher in a new chapter in my adventure – the chapter now with telecommunications. It took a couple hours all told, but I now have two active phone jacks – one on each floor – and wireless internet throughout the house. In fact, the internet speed is faster than what I have at in San Francisco! In the afternoon, UPS called me with a package. I guess he couldn’t find my house so I had to meet him at the post office. I find it ironic that they don’t use addresses and then lots of people can’t find each other. When I tell people “La Perla,” half of them seem to say, “oh Signor Bremi’s house?” and the other half need directions. And all I can usually say is “vicino di Cinqi Fonti” or “near the old folks’ home called Five Fountains” – and that’s a good 50m away.
In any event, I now have an “English International” Apple keyboard. The keyboard I had bought both didn’t work with my computer, and, although had a picture of an American-style keyboard on the cover had a German-configured keyboard inside. I’ve had enough mixing of Zs and Ys although I do like the easier umlaut keys.
